Lee Ji Ah… I think she is one of the most gorgeous Korean actresses out there and it is really ashamed that her career is plagued by such a scandal that, really, only seems 10xs more scandalous because the industry is so used to such clean stars, image-wise at least.
So the scandal goes like this. Lee Ji Ah had been married to Seo Tai Ji for a blah blah amount of years, even before she entered showbiz and the couple kept their marriage a secret. Then Ji Ah meets Jung Woo Sung on the set of Athena: The Goddess of War, they fall in love, and start dating WHILE Ji Ah is still married to Tai Ji (ooohhhh). THEN (I don’t know which happens first) Ji Ah files for divorce and Woo Sung finds out about her marriage and breaks up with her. AND THEN… well actually, that’s it. Sad story, everybody ends up alone.
Anyways, Jung Woo Sung says that he still loves her yadda yadda, and the media made it seem like he was the victim, but honestly, I think Lee Ji Ah is the one that needs the most sympathy here. If this Woo Sung guy really “still loves her”, shouldn’t he be there to support her while she’s going through a tough time with her public and personal life? I understand that it is shocking to find out your girlfriend is married, but come on dude, she’s filing for a divorce! If you still love her, why leave her? Honestly, in the end, it’s Ji Ah who’s getting slapped in the face, twice.
ANYWAYS, besides that, I just want to get a word in about her acting. Ji Ah is gorgeous, but there is something about her acting that kinda always gives off a really lethargic and calm feel. I’m only saying this based off of what I’ve seen in Athena and I’m a Flower Too! (picture above). I like it in the sense that she’s not over-dramatic or exaggerates her expressions as some Korean actresses playing the main role would tend to do, but often times I don’t see enough shifts in her emotions and as a result, her acting does get a bit bland.
But nonetheless, I still adore her and hopes she quickly bounces back from this setback :)
